General Maintenance Worker vacancy at Joburg City Theatres

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Clean and maintain filters and fan belts of assigned air handling units on a monthly basis

As needed, attend maintenance meetings. Immediately report all installations and maintenance work to the Building Manager. Immediately report all air conditioning faults to the HVAC technician. Immediately report all electrical faults to the electrical technician.

Assist in the construction of stage sets, perform tile work when required, and assist with the moving of stage machinery as needed.

Provide assistance with plumbing work, cable installation, and mechanical work, as required. Clean air handling units and replace filters.

Assist with replacement and maintenance of stage wagon wheels. Ensure general maintenance of building and fixtures. Participate in different projects (e.g. renovations.

Work with building technicians to assist them where and when needed Participate in all emergency action plans ● Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment ● Perform preventative maintenance

Repair and maintain construction equipment ● Ensure general installation and preventative maintenance ● Handle basic repairs and maintenance

Cleaning worksite debris including hauling it to the dumpster. Assuring tools, materials, and equipment are stored correctly.

The Electrical Technician should ensure that all ladders are used for safety and repair according to the Safety and Health Regulations and assist all contractors when professional repairs are required.

Appointment Requirements:

• Welding certification plus grade 12

• Extensive experience working with sheet metal and boilers.

• Experience in a related field for one year

• An advantage will be having experience in tiling, plumbing, and carpentry
