Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or N3 with Maths & Science + NQF 5 National Diploma in Power Plant Process Control Operations OR
- NQF 6 Occupational Certificate Fossil Power Plant Process Controller
Experience:
- 4 years’ experience (2 years as Plant Operator and 2 years as Senior Plant Operator Units)
Skills and Competencies:
- Power plant controller expertise
- Proficient in computer literacy
- Knowledge of fossil fuel-fired regulations (Authorization)
- Strong communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate plant under normal and emergency conditions
- Monitor unit processes
- Maintain correct unit conditions during start-up, controlled shutdown, and normal operations
- Perform administrative activities
- Control plant defect notifications
- Assist in staff development
- Engage in other legitimate activities as required
