The company is seeking a Category Procurement Specialist – Processing to manage a specific set of categories, supporting the broader portfolio strategy and business objectives. Providing improved business performance through commercial agreements, enabling innovation, supplier partnerships, and internal stakeholder collaboration, this tool enables improved business performance.
Key accountabilities:
- The role includes developing relevant category strategies, providing input to business cases, ensuring supply security, advancing supplier partnerships that drive value and innovation, preparing and executing sourcing events, supporting negotiations, establishing and executing contracts.
- Adapting to emerging business priorities and remaining flexible is key to a flexible supply chain
- Managing key initiatives as a project
- Provide relevant data, analysis, opportunity assessments, and market intelligence to assist in the development of a broader category portfolio strategy, value creation plans, and business cases
- Oversee contract administration and performance management activities throughout the lifecycle of the contract
- Execute contracts management activities for assigned portfolios efficiently and effectively (including the loading of finalized contracts onto the system to facilitate transactions).
Qualifications:

An experienced procurement professional with degree qualification in Processing (raw materials, chemicals, plant equipment) or MRO gained in a mining, construction, or heavy industry
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of the Supply Chain value chain from a technical perspective
- Integration of Commercial Management, Physical Supply Chain Management, Supplier Management and Purchasing sub-disciplines
- The supply chain and inclusive procurement as it relates to safety and sustainability
- Developing business cases, negotiating and closing deals, and evaluating investments
- Sourcing, contracting, and category management based on the Total Cost of Ownership model
- Management of Supplier Relationships
- Preparation of business plans and business cases
- An understanding of the requirements for Inclusive Procurement at the regional and local levels.
