We are seeking applications from people who meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:

Purpose of the Job:

To ensure Armscor provides opportunities for Military Veterans as prescribed by government, thereby bringing them into active economic participation, which will also benefit the country.

Critical Performance Areas:

  • Provide effective assistance to all Business Units in implementing opportunities for MilVets.

  • Develop implementation plans for MilVets companies in collaboration with relevant departments (business units).

  • Make sure all strata of military veterans are aware of Armscor’s opportunities, from successful business MilVets to destitute MilVets.

  • The Armscor Enterprise Development Programs should develop and implement a stakeholder plan

  • Provide Armscor with information about MilVets companies that are ready for incubation.

  • Providing EXCO with a briefing and update on MilVets companies.

  • Armscor’s reporting at the EXCO involves assessing and reporting on MilVets companies’ performance.

  • Communication channels should be open and transparent so that queries can be answered and information can be shared in a timely manner.

  • Provide Armscor with mitigation measures for identified risks in specific MilVets companies.

  • Serve as Armscor’s point of contact with the Military Veterans.

  • Develop initiatives to improve Armscor’s participation in supporting military veterans and submit them for approval to EXCO.

  • Participate in Armscor tender processes to support the development of small businesses, such as registration as possible service providers.

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of all Military Veterans and their dependents working for Armscor.

  • Consolidating all monthly, quarterly, and annual reports before submission to the Executive Committee.

  • Facilitate information sessions within Armscor so that this initiative can be better understood and supported.

Qualification

  • A National Diploma in Business Management or similar program at NQF level 6 or higher

Experience:

  • A good understanding of Military Veterans legislation and regulations is required.

  • It must be in the interest of military veterans.

  • Business experience will be an advantage.

  • Experience dealing with high-level stakeholders is a must.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Extensive knowledge of relevant government prescripts, policies, and legislation.

  • Knowledge of military veterans’ affairs and associations.

  • The ability to manage risks effectively.

  • Business principles should be well understood.

  • (Written and verbal) English proficiency.
