Communications Assistant Post at the University of Cape Town
This position is primarily responsible for assisting with withcommunications activities for the Global Parenting Initiative (GPI). In collaboration with the Communications Specialist, the Communications Assistant assists with outreach and event planning; creates written, graphic, and video content; and assists with social media and website updates.

* The period of the employment relationship is fixed to 3 years, with a possibility of an extension depending on funding. |
Requirements:

An advanced diploma/certificate/bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public health, or related fields
-
Experience in an academic or think tank environment, ideally with 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position
-
Implementation and planning experience with events
-
Management of website content and experience creating it
-
Social media copywriting experience for different platforms and adaptability to different audiences
Advantageous:

A second honours degree or an equivalent qualification
-
Organizational skills
-
Adaptable to hybrid in-person/online working environments

Easily able to switch between tasks and priorities

Writing and speaking English at an excellent level

Has a keen eye for detail
-
Microsoft Office Suite, MailChimp, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, social media scheduling software such as Hootsuite, and Youtube experience

Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro

Managing and editing websites

Excellent time management skills

Multitasking skills

Acts on his own initiative
