Requirements:

The ability to process pension claims/administration for a financial nature for a minimum of two (2) years. The candidate must have a three (3) year tertiary qualification in Public Management/Public Administration/Social Sciences/OHS/Finances/HRM. Knowledge:

Compensation Fund objectives and business functions, Compensation Fund Value Chain and business processes, Policies, Procedures, and Processes, Customer Service (Batho Pele Principles), Risk Awareness, COID Tariffs, COIDA, Contribution Act, Public Service Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act (OHS), PFMA and National Treasury Regulations, Promotion of Information Access.

The ability to communicate (verbally, in writing, listening and asking questions), Fund Operating Systems, Data Capturing, Data and Records Management, Telephone Skills and Etiquette, Planning and Organization, Analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.

The South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) must issue an evaluation report when shortlisted for a foreign qualification, and all qualifications and related documents must comply with the advertisement’s requirements. Furthermore, late applications will not be considered if they do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements/instructions.

The Department will conduct a personnel suitability check of candidates (criminal record, citizenship, credit record checks, qualification verification, and employment verification).  Applicants for SMS must obtain a pre-entry certificate from the National School of Government (NSG).

A technical competence exercise will be conducted by the Department for all shortlisted candidates for SMS posts.

As a result of the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will recommend that candidates attend the mandatory DPSA SMS competency assessment tools to assess generic managerial competencies. A performance agreement will be signed by the successful candidate.
