Human Resources Practitioner Post at the Department of Health, South Africa
Requirements:
As recognized by SAQA, a National Diploma (NQF 6) in Human Resource Management. At least two (2) years’ experience in the Human Resource Management field. Knowledge of PERSAL and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
Knowledgeable of relevant human resource prescripts and their application, as well as the Health Act and the Regulations pertaining to it. The ability to communicate verbally and in writing, to interact positively with others, to solve problems, to be analytical, to manage clients, to organize, and to use computers. A valid driver’s license is required.
Duties:
Manage the recruitment and selection process and be proactive during the process in order to expedite the filling of vacancies. Oversee the timely compilation and submission of the panel’s recommendations for approval and risk management through coordination of relevant postinterview processes.
Maintain and update vacancy data and statistics monthly, and provide daily advice to all stakeholders regarding policy and legislative requirements. Conduct information sessions/presentations and assist with the development, review, analysis, and monitoring of HR policies, guidelines, and plans.

NOTE :
Short-listed candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise aimed at testing relevant technical skills, the details of which will be communicated by the Department. Upon completion of the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will recommend that candidates attend a generic managerial competency assessment (as prescribed in the DPSA Directive).
The competency assessment will test generic managerial competencies using the mandated DPSA SMS competency assessment batteries. The Z83 form is available from any Public Service department and should be accompanied by a CV only (previous experience must be comprehensively described). In accordance with DPSA Practice note, the Z83 must be completed in its entirety.
Failure to comply will automatically disqualify the applicant. A copy of your qualifications and other relevant documents is not required when you apply. A certified copy of your qualifications and other relevant documents will be requested during the final selection process.
