Job Opportunity of Tradesman Aides at the Department of Higher Education
Requirements
To be considered for the Tradesman Aides position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- National senior certificate/grade 12 or NCV certificate (Level 4) or a related qualification.
- Six (6) months of trade-related experience.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning materials.
- Communication, reading, and writing skills.
- Technical background knowledge of the trade.
- Skills to use cleaning materials.
- Good knowledge of performing minor maintenance and repairs on assessment aids and machinery.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Tradesman Aide, you will be responsible for:
- Providing candidates with necessary tools, materials, and services.
- Properly preparing materials and tools for assessment tasks.
- Safeguarding workshop/assessment area, machines, tools, and consumable material.
- Maintaining cleanliness and general housekeeping in the workshop/assessment area.
- Performing minor maintenance and repairs on assessment aids and machinery.
- Carrying out safety activities in the workshop/assessment area.
- Transporting allocated assets from asset management to the workshop and vice versa when required.
