About the Constitutional Tribunal
The Constitutional Tribunal serves as the judicial arm of student governance at the University of Pretoria.
Responsible for student disciplinary hearings, dispute resolution, inter-society conflicts, and SRC constitutional matters, it comprises well-trained final and pre-final year law students who prioritize students’ rights and justice.
An independent and impartial body, the Tribunal ensures the protection and upholding of student rights.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be undergraduate LLB, BCom, or BA Law students or postgraduate coursework/research LLM (Masters) students.
- For undergraduates, completion of three consecutive semesters at UP while enrolled in at least 80% of the required modules with a minimum GPA of 65% in the preceding semester.
- Postgraduates must have attained a 65% GPA in the prior semester for coursework qualifications or provide written confirmation of sufficient progress for research degrees.
- Not have served more than one previous term on the Constitutional Tribunal.
- Not have been found guilty by the Committee for Discipline (Students).
- Be deemed a fit and proper person for the office.
