Requirements:

Two (2) years functional experience in pension administration/claims processing of a financial nature. Three (3) years tertiary qualification in Public Management/Public Administration/Social Sciences/OHS/ Finance/HRM.

Knowledge:

Compensation Fund objectives and business functions, Compensation Fund Value Chain and business processes, Policies, Procedures, and Processes, Customer Service (Batho Pele Principles), Risk Awareness, COID Tariffs, COIDA, Contribution Act, Public Service Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act (OHS), PFMA and National Treasury Regulations, Promotion of Information Access.

Communication skills (verbal, written, listening and questioning), Fund Operating Systems, Data Capturing, Data and Records Management, Telephone Skills and Etiquette, Planning and Organization, Analytical thinking, problem solving, decision making.

  • Render pension administrative duties. Claims adjudication and processing.

NOTE/ Instruction:

An updated comprehensive CV is required (including detailed previous experience). Questions related to conditions that prevent re-appointment under Part F must be answered.

The South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) must issue an evaluation report when shortlisted for a foreign qualification. In addition, applications received late will not be considered if they do not comply with the above-mentioned instructions/requirements.

All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical competency exercise, whose logistics will be communicated by the Department. After the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will recommend that candidates attend generic managerial competencies using the mandated DPSA SMS competency assessment tools. There will be a performance agreement that will be signed by the successful candidate.
