Program Details

RCL Foods is actively searching for a dynamic and talented Electrical Engineering Intern to join our prestigious Milling division team in Pretoria West. This internship opportunity is ideal for candidates who have successfully completed their national diploma in electrical engineering at a technical college and are eager to gain practical industry experience.

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals, contribute to real-world projects, and advance your skills in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support Electrical Engineering Projects: Assist in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and components. Collaborate on various projects to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting.
  2. Conduct Research and Analysis: Investigate electrical engineering principles, industry trends, and emerging technologies. Analyze data to make recommendations for improving operations and processes.
  3. Troubleshoot Electrical Systems: Collaborate with senior engineers to identify and resolve electrical issues, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to safety protocols.
  4. Assist in Documentation: Create accurate technical documentation, including electrical schematics, diagrams, and reports. Contribute to project planning and progress communication.
  5. Collaborate in Project Management: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion. Learn project management methodologies and contribute to planning, execution, and monitoring.
  6. Stay Updated on Industry Standards: Continuously update your knowledge on technological advancements, regulations, and safety standards in the electrical engineering field.
  7. Conduct Design Analysis of Existing Plant Systems: Analyze various plant systems and provide insights for improvements, including Motor Control Centres, automation networks, and electrical protection coordination.
  8. Energy Efficiency: Assist in identifying and executing energy-saving initiatives, such as lighting studies, motor efficiency audits, and process optimization.

Requirements

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a Degree (BSc/BEng) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Successful completion of an electrical engineering program at a technical college is a prerequisite.
