Qualifications

To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed a 3-year Degree, Diploma, or National Diploma in Information Technology (NQF Level 6).
  • Possess an ITIL v3 Foundation Certification and relevant Microsoft Certifications (an added advantage).
  • Maintain a clear credit history (ITC) and have no criminal record.
  • Be currently unemployed.
  • Not participate in another learnership or internship program.
  • Demonstrate effective communication in both written and verbal English.
  • Reside in the Pietermaritzburg area (relocation is not an option).
  • Be under the age of 35 as of July 1, 2023.
  • Be a South African Citizen of African, Coloured, or Indian descent.

Competencies and Skills

Successful candidates should have the following competencies and skills:

  • Proficiency in Wintel theory, administration, and tuning.
  • Knowledge of Performance Monitoring.
  • Basic understanding of network communications and TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with good server and midrange design principles.
  • Additional knowledge in VMware, Access Control, SQL Server, and Citrix will be advantageous.
