Requirements:
A Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) recording on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on NQF level 4 must demonstrate competency in the core functions of the post. A three (3) Diploma / Degree recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on NQF level 6 or higher in the field of post will serve as an added advantage.
In addition to being fluent in two official languages, one of which must be English, you must speak at least two other official languages as well. Citizen of South Africa. Applicant must not have any criminal convictions or departmental cases pending. An extensive vetting process will be conducted on all applicants, including fingerprint verification and security screening. Be able to work under pressure and for extended periods of time.
Duties:
- Keep the diary accurate and coordinate meetings;
- Remind the Section Head of meeting schedules;
- Book venues and arrange refreshments for the attendees of the meetings according to the number of attendees;
- Handle outline correspondence;
- Provide general reception services;
- Type documents, reports, letters, memorandums, etc. Administer a bring-forward system;
- Make travel and accommodation arrangements;
- Organize passports and travel documents for overseas trips;
- Submit claims for lodging and expenses after trips;
- Manage human and physical resources attached to the office.

According to the Public Service Act, 1994 (Act No 103 OF 1994), appointments will be made to the post environment. Applications must be posted / submitted timeously. The Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No 32 of 2007) and the Children’s Act, 2005 (Act No 38 of 2005) will govern the short-listing of candidates for certain identified posts.
In the event that the candidate’s details appear in the National Register for Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection Register, they will not be considered. As of 31 January 2015, all new appointments in the South African Police Service are required to provide a buccal (inside cheek) sample to determine their forensic DNA profile under the Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Amendment Act, Act 37 of 2013.
All short-listed candidates will undergo fingerprint screening and reference checks. The forensic DNA profile derived from the sample will be loaded into the Elimination Index of the National Forensic DNA Database. Those who retired from the Public Service as a result of a severance package, early retirement or medical reasons are not included. We will only communicate with successful candidates.
