South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) Grants Administrator Position. SASSA is currently seeking qualified professionals for the role of Grants Administrator.
This position is based at the Beaufort West Local Office, with a closing date for applications on November 15, 2023. The annual salary ranges from R 202,233.00 to R 235,611.00, exclusive of benefits.
About SASSA
SASSA, established in April 2005, is a national agency of the South African government tasked with administering the country’s social security system.
This includes the distribution of social grants on behalf of the Department of Social Development (DSD).
Although under the oversight of DSD and the Ministry of Social Development, SASSA operates independently.

South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) Grants Administrator Position
Duties and Responsibilities
The Grants Administrator will be responsible for various tasks, including:
- Assisting in the administration of Social Grants at the Local Office level.
- Effectively screening all grant applications.
- Capturing applications on the system.
- Providing customer care.
- Processing other grant documentation and performing additional grants administration functions.
- Conducting quality control on grant applications.
- Ensuring adherence to Section 57 of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Chapter 6, Part 3.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements for candidates include a Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4), with computer literacy being essential.
Additional advantages include possessing a valid driver’s license and having administrative/clerical experience.
