Technical Tool Owner Positions at Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing South Africa
Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Vision: Develop and chart the future roadmap for the Product.
- Coordination and Planning: Oversee activities aligning with the defined roadmap.
- Product Value Demonstration: Communicate and showcase product value within the organization.
- Leadership: Direct a diverse team to deliver high-quality products.
- Budget Oversight: Create, implement, and evaluate the product budget.
- Requirement Evaluation: Prioritize new requirements and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
- Management Liaison: Provide feedback and act as an escalation point for client issues.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in strategic team discussions and contribute input.
- Issue Mitigation: Actively work to resolve impediments impacting release/sprint goals.
- Global Collaboration: Work with colleagues across different time zones to foster continuous improvement.
- Process Enhancement: Drive productivity improvements through the implementation of new processes.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Business Administration, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or relevant qualifications within the automotive industry (NQF 7).
- 3-5 years of IT experience; familiarity with Supply Chain Processes is advantageous.
Technical and Non-Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in software design, platform design, and application operations.
- Knowledge of recent IT base technology (Azure, CI\CD, DevOps, Cloud, API’s), IT standards, Security concepts, and agile methodologies.
- Understanding of IT Infrastructure and Cloud concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- A proactive approach to new technologies, excellent communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Drive for innovation, commitment, negotiation skills, and a focus on results.
- Experience leading a product team is beneficial.
