NOTE/ Instruction:

It is imperative that all sections of the Z83 be completed in full, including Sections A, B, C and D. Section E, F, G (Due to the limited space on the Z83, applicants may indicate that they refer to their CV or see the attached document). An updated comprehensive CV is required (including detailed previous experience). Questions related to conditions that prevent re-appointment under Part F must be answered.

Shortlisted candidates will only need to provide certified copies of their qualifications and other related documents by the day of the interview, following communication from Human Resources, and those qualifications and other related documents must comply with the advertisement’s requirements.

When shortlisted, a foreign qualification must be accompanied by a South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) evaluation report. Applicants who do not comply with the above-mentioned instructions/requirements, as well as applications received late, will not be considered.

Suitable candidates will be subjected to a personnel suitability check (criminal record, citizenship, credit record checks, qualification verification and employment verification). The Department reserves the right not to make any appointment(s) to the above post.

Applicants to SMS must obtain a certificate from the National School of Government (NSG). The course is available at the NSG under the name Certificate for entry into SMS and the full details can be obtained by following the below link:https://www.thensg.gov.za/training-course/sms-pre-entryprogramme/ .

It is anticipated that all shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical competency test that will assess relevant technical aspects of the job, which will be communicated by the Department in advance. The selection panel will recommend candidates attend the DPSA SMS competency assessment tools for generic managerial competencies after the interview and technical exercise.

An Internship performance agreement will be required from the successful candidate.
