A learnership program focused on the selected qualification as a qualified artisan will be available to those selected for the position.
- Learnership Fitter x2
- Learnership Measurement Control & Instrumentation Mechanician x2
- Learnership Electrician x1
- Learnership Boilermaker x1
A three-year Artisan Learnership Program at Polokwane Smelter will provide you with classroom and on-the-job/core training to enable you to gain skills.
During this program, you will maximize your potential in addition to receiving a customized plan that will allow you to impact the world in the future. We will assist you in discovering your true capabilities as an Artisan as you progress through the Artisan Learnership program.
The following are the minimum entry requirements into the programmes:
Minimum Entry Requirements
- The matriculating student must have at least 40% passing grades in Mathematics, Physical Science, and English
- In all disciplines as indicated in the discipline requirements, an N2 or higher is required in all subjects
- With a minimum 40% pass in all subjects at NCV Level 4 in the appropriate trade
Trade Test Requirements
- With a minimum 40% pass in all subjects at NCV Level 4 in the appropriate trade Mathematics
- Scientists and engineers
- Theories relevant to trade
- Engineering or structural drawings for Plating or Industrial Electronics
- The matriculating student must have at least 40% passing grades in Mathematics, Physical Science, and English
