Key Responsibilities
The HR Intern will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
- HR-related administrative tasks
- Monthly payroll administration
- Preparation of statutory transactions
- Leave coordination and administration
- Timesheet population, collection, and record-keeping
- Submission of monthly HR reports and presentations
- Job description filing in staff personal files
- Oversight of the Performance Appraisal process
- Assistance in organizational skills development and training activities
- Capturing employee training on Spreadsheet and Pastel
- Management of employee health and safety
- Maintenance of proper and organized filing systems
- Overseeing all activities within the HR Department
Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge
To be eligible for this internship, candidates should possess:
- Human Resource Degree
- Sound knowledge of South African Human Resources Legislation
- Good knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and OHSA Act
- High level of maturity and insight
- Problem-solving skills
- Resilience in handling stress
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation and business communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure on multiple tasks, demands, and deadlines with a positive and constructive attitude
