Despatch Clerk Job Vacancy at RCL Foods

RCL Foods is seeking a Despatch Clerk to join the Baking Division, based in Bushbuckridge, reporting to the Distribution Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely dispatch of all trucks in the morning.
• Arrange replacements for despatch staff when necessary.
• Monitor uniform compliance within the despatch team.
• Coordinate internal distribution labor as needed.
• Complete the despatch recon document daily.
• Maintain records of goods received and despatched.
• Enhance customer service in the despatch department.
• Reconcile and oversee despatch foreman recons daily.
• Verify production transfers and confirm returns to despatch.
• Balance despatch recons’ daily sales with van sheets per route.
• Record returns to stock and oversee stock variances.
• Report any stock shortages received from production.
• Capture employee work hours and manage clock cards.
• Balance crates between depots and bakeries daily.
• Inspect truck cleanliness before loading and record on the vehicle hygiene control sheet.
• Supervise truck loaders to ensure timely and accurate loading.
• Ensure departments have sufficient crates for production.

Requirements

• Matric qualification.
• National Diploma in a related field is advantageous.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Computer literacy, particularly in Syspro.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good administrative and organizational skills.
• Accuracy is essential.
• Knowledge of audit and compliance, recent laws and regulations.
• Coaching, writing, presentation, and facilitation skills.
