Contracts Intern (12-month Internship)
- Purpose: This role is ideal for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills. The primary responsibility is to act as a liaison between WHC (legal and HR) and SBIMB Projects Office.
- Minimum Education and Training: An Honors degree in any field (a background in Law or a Master’s degree is advantageous).
- Minimum Work Experience: No prior work experience required, but relevant experience in a research or NGO environment is a plus.
Finance Intern (12-month Internship)
- Purpose: The Finance Intern will assist the Grants Programmer Officer with managing the finances and procurement activities of SBIMB projects, following good management practices, project protocols, and WHC’s standard operating procedures. They will also assist with the Wits accounts for SBIMB.
- Minimum Education and Training: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
- Minimum Work Experience: No prior work experience required, but relevant experience in a research or NGO environment is beneficial.
Data Systems Intern (12-month Internship)
- Purpose: A full-time dedicated systems administrator is needed to maintain the Wits cluster system and assist researchers and students in accessing various data sets on the server, conducting analyses, installing and configuring software and hardware, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure system security and efficiency.
- Minimum Education and Training: A minimum tertiary qualification (Honors or Master’s degree) in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum Work Experience: No prior work experience required, but experience in databases and programming, preferably in a research environment, is advantageous.
