ERWAT operates 19 wastewater treatment works, collectively releasing between 700 to 1000 megalitres of wastewater daily, encompassing both domestic and industrial sources.

Responsibilities of the Fitter
The selected candidates will have the following responsibilities:
- Performing mechanical maintenance and repairs on ERWAT wastewater and Water Treatment equipment.
- Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring they are regularly updated as needed.
- Attending to the mechanical maintenance of equipment.
- Daily meetings with the Supervisor to discuss previous day’s maintenance and determine the maintenance schedule (both ad hoc and routine) for the day.
- Effecting repairs by either turning or replacing old or worn parts of malfunctioning equipment.
- Troubleshooting plant issues by collaborating with Supervisors and Plant managers and taking necessary corrective actions.
- Ensuring strict adherence to safety and technical standards at all times while performing duties.
Requirements
Candidates for this position should meet the following requirements:
- Possession of a Trade Test (Fitter) qualification.
- A valid Code EB Driver’s License.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Fitter, preferably in the wastewater and water treatment industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead others.
- Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment.
