Magalies Water Bursary Programme 2024-20 Bursaries for Grade 12 Graduates. Magalies Water invites applications from eligible South African students for the Magalies Water Bursary Programme 2024. This program offers 20 bursaries to South African citizens who have achieved an average of 65% in Grade 12. The closing date for applications is November 30, 2023.
About Magalies Water
Established in 1969, the Magalies Water Board, in accordance with Government Notice 234 of 1969, primarily serves the water needs of platinum mines in the Rustenburg and Thabazimbi regions.
Magalies Water supplies water to industries and communities within an extensive service area covering 42,000 km² across three provinces: North West, Limpopo, and Gauteng.
This region encompasses the major catchments of the Crocodile and Pienaars rivers.

Magalies Water Bursary Programme 2024-20 Bursaries for Grade 12 Graduates
Bursary Fields of Study
As part of their youth development initiative, Magalies Water is inviting young South Africans aged 18 to 35 who are eligible to study at accredited and registered South African higher education institutions.
The bursaries are available in the following fields of study:
- Mechanical Engineering (X3) – N4-N6/ Diploma (NQF6) / B Degree
- Electrical Engineering (X3) – N4-N6/ Diploma (NQF6) / B Degree
- Civil Engineering (X3) – N4-N6/ Diploma (NQF6) / B Degree
- Water Care (X3) – Diploma (NQF6) / Advance Diploma
- Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry (X3) – Diploma (NQF6) / B Degree
- Biotechnology / Microbiology (X3) – Diploma (NQF6) / B Degree
- Financial Accounting (X2) – B Degree
Selection Requirements
Consideration for final selection and preference will be given to:
- Previously disadvantaged individuals
- People with disabilities and females
- South African Citizens
How to Apply
To apply for the Magalies Water Bursary Programme, prepare the following necessary documents:
- ID documents
- Grade 11 and Matric results (if currently in Matric)
- Matric certificate, if you have completed Matric
- Latest academic transcript or record on official letterhead or logo (if you are already at a tertiary institution)
- Provisional acceptance letter from the university
Ensure that the first four documents are certified copies. Application forms can be obtained from the link provided at the bottom of this post.
