Motus Ford Kempton Park Motor Mechanic Apprenticeship 2024

The opportunity at Motus Ford Kempton Park offers Level 3 Apprentices the chance to train and qualify as Motor Mechanics.

Participants will engage in all aspects of the apprenticeship program, including vehicle repairs under the supervision of qualified Technicians, fulfilling MerSETA trade requirements, and qualifying within a maximum of 2 years.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend scheduled technical/level training courses.
  • Assist in vehicle repairs to gain practical experience under Technician supervision.
  • Prepare for level tests to qualify within the maximum 2-year timeframe.
  • Maintain clean tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Adhere to workplace safety protocols and conduct rules.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 with a minimum 50% pass mark in Pure Maths and Physical Science.
  • Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Apprentice Level 2 Motor Mechanic competence with mechanical insight and technical skills exposure.

Skills and Competencies

  • Competent operation of manufacturer diagnostic equipment/computers for accessing information.
  • Physical fitness for heavy work associated with the role.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, fault finding, and troubleshooting motor vehicle issues.
  • Strong communication skills in English for accurately recording findings and work conducted.
  • Meticulous, accurate, and team-oriented.
