Eligibility Requirements

Pioneering Leaders Wanted

Applicant Eligibility

1. Age Requirement: Echoing Green Fellowship applicants must be 18 years or older by June 1, 2024.
2. Proficiency in English: Proficient communication in English is essential to fully participate in the Fellowship’s programming and support offerings.
3. Original Founder: You should be the original founder or a leading member of the organization’s founding team, meaning you conceived the idea and have decision-making authority within the organization.
4. Primary Decision Maker: Applicants must be the primary decision-maker, with ultimate authority over the organization’s growth and vision.
5. Full-Time Commitment: During the 18-month Fellowship, you must work full-time (40 hours a week) on your proposed organization as your main professional priority.

Organization Eligibility

1. Independence from Parent Organization: Your proposed organization must operate independently and autonomously from any parent organization, with the ability to make and act on organizational decisions.
2. Early-Stage Development: Your organization should be in an early-stage of development and in need of financial and non-financial resources to become sustainable. It typically means having operated with full-time staff for less than five years or requiring resources for growth and sustainability.
3. Non-Lobbying Focus: Echoing Green cannot fund organizations whose primary purpose is lobbying. Issue-area advocacy, as opposed to specific political lobbying, is acceptable.
4. Non-Religious Promotion: Your organization should not promote or recruit for a specific religious faith to its constituency. However, it can work with faith communities without promoting a specific faith.
5. No Previous Echoing Green Fellowship: Neither founding team members nor leadership positions should have previously received an Echoing Green Fellowship.
