  • SALARY RANGE: Total Annual Package (CTC) – R195,668.00 – R230,197.00

  • LOCATION: ICASA (Head Office – Eco Park, Centurion)

  • POSITION STATUS: Permanent

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa Is Hiring for a Maintenance Assistant

Purpose of the job                                                                                                       

Maintaining the building and facilities at a high standard in a positive, conducive working environment.

Key Outputs:

The successful candidate will report to the Manager: Facilities and Fleet Management, and they’ll do things like:

Taking care of your buildings and assets

  • Maintain, repair (disassemble and reassemble), and install buildings, fixtures and equipment/assets

  • Maintain all ICASA assets & resources on a regular basis

  • Performs minor plumbing repairs (unblocking toilets, drains, etc.)

  • Repair furniture and equipment as needed

  • The performance of ad hoc building requests

  • Keep the facilities office updated on all daily maintenance requests.

Facilities Support Services

  • Deliveries and pickups of groceries and items

  • Help other programs prepare stakeholder functions

  • Presentations, canteens, and boardrooms for public hearings

  • Setting up official ICASA meetings with recording equipment

  • Verify assets

  • Physically move assets to different offices/boardrooms

  • Assist with the safe keeping of basement and storeroom items

  • Work with bulk documents to photocopy and bind

  • Assist service providers with maintenance

  • Check and perform daily schedule for assigned routine tasks and maintenance repairs.

Safe housekeeping

  • Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations for ICASA

  • Make sure all emergency doors aren’t blocked, remove and report any obstructions

  • All emergency doors should have safety brackets so they’re easy to open in an emergency

  • Assemble and check storerooms to make sure they’re clean and safe

  • Assist with identifying and completing facility risk assessments

Qualifications and Experience:

It would be an advantage if you had a Higher Certificate in Electrical Engineering (NQF level 5). You would also need to have a 3 year National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NQF level 6).
