Requirements

To qualify for this position, you should have:

  • A Senior/Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy as a passed subject.
  • A valid, unexpired driver’s license.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of handling laboratory equipment.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong interpersonal relations.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Willingness to acquire new skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

As an Assistant Technical Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the supply and dispatch of sampling materials to various monitors for scheduled and ad hoc requests.
  • Ensuring timely routing of sample materials, printing tags and schedules.
  • Keeping address lists of monitors up to date.
  • Assisting in the creation of worksheets and batch-logged samples in packing lists according to different analysis groups.
  • Managing queries related to problem samples, logging, and re-checking in Water Management System (WMS) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Preparing filter papers, assisting in filling Lugol and ethanol to glass bottles, and packing Petri dishes.
  • Participating in timely stock taking.
