About the Innovation Hub

Through its Department of Economic Development (GDED), the Gauteng Provincial Government established the Innovation Hub in order to promote socioeconomic development and competitiveness in Gauteng. Gauteng’s Innovation Hub offers incubation, skills development, and innovation enabling programs in Smart Industries (ICT and advanced manufacturing), Bioeconomy (health and agro-processing), and Green Economy (energy, water, and waste management).

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAMME ENTAIL?

• Exposure to the workplace for a period of 12 months

• Experience in a real-life work environment

• Mentoring and coaching on an ongoing basis

• Training for Soft Skills

• Training in technical areas

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS

• Having a 3/4-year university degree (NQF Level 6 minimum).

• Citizen of South Africa between the ages of 18 and 25.

• Internship experience is not required.

• Growth of the individual.

• The information and communication technology (ICT) sector includes:

• Applied computer science

• Applied information science

• An overview of communication networks

• Application Development

• Systems for information management

• Developing software

• The management of information/informatics

• Graphic Design & Multimedia

• Applications in technology

• The field of computer systems engineering

• The study of electronics

• Electrification
