Transnet Corporate Affairs and Continuous Improvement Internships 2024

The Young Professional in Training Programme aims to cultivate a talent pipeline for key roles within Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) through a structured 24-month training initiative. This program aims to place Young Professionals in specific areas within TPT that align with their academic backgrounds, career goals, and business needs.

About Transnet

Transnet SOC Ltd is a prominent South African rail, port, and pipeline company headquartered in Johannesburg’s Carlton Centre. Established as a limited company on April 1, 1990, it is majority-owned by the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) of the South African government.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow a structured training program.
  • Undergo performance reviews and assessments every six months.
  • Submit monthly reports.
  • Perform all duties as outlined in the development program, and any other responsibilities reasonably required by Transnet Port Terminals.

Qualifications and Experience

Corporate Affairs

  • ND in Digital Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications.

Continuous Improvement

  • ND/Degree in Industrial Engineering.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in computer skills above average.
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Research capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within an integrated team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Professional attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Preference will be given to applicants from Nelson Mandela Metro.
