Established on October 1, 1998, it succeeded the repealed South African Civil Aviation Authority Act 40 of 1998.

- General Administration involving document preparation, collation for reporting, packaging documentation for meetings, record-keeping, and coordination of departmental functions and meetings.

- Education: Matric and a National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance Management or an equivalent qualification.
