About NESP

NESP is a comprehensive three-year program that encompasses a two-year Master’s scholarship followed by a one-year academic internship at a South African university.

Apply for the 2024 Rhodes University NESP Scholarship and Internship

Requirements

To qualify for the NESP program, you should:

  1. Express a keen interest in pursuing an academic career.
  2. Be 35 years old or younger.
  3. Hold South African citizenship.
  4. Possess a minimum average of 65% in a relevant honor’s degree.
  5. Show eligibility for postgraduate master’s level studies.
  6. Commit to a three-year program, including two years of study and one year of internship at the recruiting university.
