About SAOTA
SAOTA is a renowned architectural firm fueled by the creative minds of Stefan Antoni, Philip Olmesdahl, Greg Truen, Phillippe Fouché, Mark Bullivant, Roxanne Kaye, and Logen Gordon.
Since its establishment in 1986, SAOTA has made its mark on the global stage with projects spanning across six continents.
The firm possesses a profound understanding of design’s role in the world and excels in delivering architectural excellence in diverse markets.
As part of its commitment to community upliftment, SAOTA initiated the Scholar Employment Experience Day (seed) in 2017.
This ongoing program conducts one-day workshops for Grade 10-12 scholars hailing from economically disadvantaged areas in and around Cape Town, Western Cape.
SAOTA Bursary Programme 2024 – Shaping the Future of South African Architecture
Launched in 2012, the SAOTA Bursary Programme is dedicated to fostering architectural talent in South Africa. For over a decade, this program has empowered 57 South African university architecture students with bursaries, providing support to those who demonstrate exceptional aptitude in their architectural studies.

Bursary recipients are expected to complete their practical training with SAOTA upon the successful completion of their qualifications.
Bursary Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the SAOTA Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Enrolled in an Architecture program.
- South African citizenship.
- Submission of a Curriculum Vitae and Portfolio.
- A valid University Acceptance letter.
- Full academic transcripts.
- A brief motivational video.
