Clerk for Human Capital Management at South African National Parks (SANParks). South African National Parks (SANParks) is seeking qualified individuals to apply for the position of Clerk in Human Capital Management.

  • Salary: Fixed-Term Contract Ending March 2027 (3 years); Paterson Grading: B3

The remuneration package includes a basic salary, aligning with the Paterson B3 job grade, along with allowances and benefits specified in the HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Service of SANParks.

Please note that the successful candidate must arrange their own accommodation as official housing within the park is not available. The appointment will align with EE (Employment Equity) plan targets.

Clerk for Human Capital Management at South African National Parks (SANParks)

SANParks was established under the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003 (Act No 57 of 2003). Its primary mandate is the conservation of South Africa’s biodiversity, landscapes, and heritage assets through a network of national parks.

Additionally, SANParks ensures active participation by South Africans in biodiversity initiatives and promotes harmonious coexistence with neighboring communities for educational and socioeconomic benefits.

Responsibilities

The role involves various responsibilities within Human Capital Management, including:

  1. Recruitment Administration: Handling tasks related to the recruitment process, such as CV management, applicant screening, shortlisting, reference checks, interview logistics, and participation in interviews.
  2. HR Payroll Duties: Verifying attendance registers and consolidating leave for the monthly payroll process.
  3. Data Management: Capturing and maintaining employee information using the SAGE 300 people system.
  4. Wellness and Training Coordination: Organizing wellness and training programs and maintaining relevant records.
  5. Reporting: Compiling and submitting HR reports for the Regional HR Manager and Wildlife Conservation Bond Project Manager.
  6. Disciplinary Representation: Representing Human Capital Management in disciplinary hearings and interviews.
  7. Filing Management: Coordinating the maintenance and updating of employee filing within Human Capital Management.
  8. Policy Guidance: Advising line managers and staff on HCM policies and practices.
  9. Customer Support: Addressing HCM-related queries in person, over the phone, or via email.
  10. General Administrative Duties: Undertaking daily administrative tasks as required within the project.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Education: A Grade 12 certificate along with a National Diploma in Human Resources Management (NQF Level 6).
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Human Capital Management.
  • Driver’s License: Possession of a valid Code B driver’s license is essential.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook is required.
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with SAGE 300 people is advantageous.
  • Legal and Policy Knowledge: Working knowledge of relevant Human Resources legislation, as well as HCM Policies, Procedures, and Practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative: The ability to show initiative, flexibility, meet deadlines, and work independently without supervision is vital.
