Responsibilities and Desired Skills

Website Maintenance and Development:

1. Content Management: Assist in maintaining and updating the organization’s websites to ensure accuracy and freshness of content.
2. Front-End Enhancement: Work on front-end web development tasks to improve user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).
3. CMS Management: Manage and optimize the content management system (CMS) for efficient website operations when required.
4. Web Analytics: Collaborate with the Digital Media Specialist to integrate web analytics tools and implement basic SEO practices.
5. Software Development: Contribute to software development projects aimed at enhancing functionality, efficiency, and user experience.
6. Portfolio Presentation: Request that the intern share links or documents showcasing their work on previous web development or software projects to demonstrate their capabilities and contributions in previous roles.

Desired Skills:

1. Graphic Design and Web Development: Assist in all web-related, advertising, and print media projects, from concept to production/implementation.
2. Digital Project Management: Execute digital, online, advertising, and print media-related projects from inception to approval as specified by the GDS Digital team.
3. Documentation and Tracking: Log digital-related job numbers and track work done for each project.
4. Design Expertise: Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type for websites, intranet, social media, and other web platforms/channels.
5. Brand Consistency: Manage web content administration to ensure cohesive brand consistency following Coega CI manual.
6. Content Optimization: Actively optimize website and intranet content, including social media and mobile app.
7. Process and System Development: Develop and implement online processes and systems to ensure proper governance and continuous improvements.
8. Marketing Algorithms: Apply modern marketing algorithms to increase acquisition and retention, such as search engine algorithms and social media algorithms.
9. Brand Visibility: Implement strategies to enhance brand visibility, especially through platforms like Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
10. Collaboration: Attend meetings as required by the GDS Digital team.
11. Event Support: Assist in planning and transporting Coega branding materials for events when necessary.
12. Graphic Design Proficiency: Possession of graphic design skills in combination with web development/coding is advantageous.
13. Data Analysis: Demonstrate knowledge and application of algorithms, including Eigenvalues, Google Analytics, Regression algorithms for marketing campaign analysis, Bayesian algorithms for data insights, Principal Component Analysis, Data Modeling, and Predictive Analytics.
14. Eagerness to Learn: Be eager to learn both on and off the job to enhance skills and capabilities.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Relevant qualifications in IT (Software Development/Web Development)
• Computer literacy
• Age not exceeding 35 years
• Permanent residence in Gqeberha
