Eastern Cape DEDEAT Bursary Programme 2024. The Eastern Cape Department of Economic Development, Environmental and Tourism (DEDEAT) is pleased to announce its Bursary Programme for the year 2024.
This program is designed to support students pursuing studies in Economic Development and Environmental Management-related academic fields, with a specific focus on the disadvantaged communities within the province.

DEDEAT is committed to the growth and development of the provincial economy and achieves this mission through various provincial entities such as the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, the Eastern Cape Gambling and Betting Board, and the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency.
The department also plays a vital role in initiatives like the auto cluster and the Wild Coast Development.

Available Fields of Study
The bursary is available for students who are either currently pursuing or planning to enroll in Economic Development and Environmental Management-related academic courses during the 2024 academic year.

Bursary Requirements
To be eligible for the DEDEAT Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Residency: Only applicants from the Eastern Cape Province will be considered.
- Application Documents: Applicants must submit completed bursary application forms along with the following documents:
- An acceptance letter from an academic institution.
- Certified copies of their ID Book.
- Grade 12 final results or progress reports.
- Proof of the parents’ or guardian’s salary. If they are not employed, an affidavit is required.
- Proof of address and an affidavit to confirm the applicant’s Eastern Cape residency.
- An acceptance letter from the academic institution applied for.
- Preference: First preference will be given to applicants who do not possess any post-matric qualifications and have never been awarded a bursary by DEDEAT before. Additionally, preference will be given to candidates who have passed all relevant subjects. In cases of first-time applications for second-year admission, the results of the first year are required.
