Job Opportunity of Admin Clerk at Midvaal Local Municipality


  • Grade 12
  • Computer literacy certificate
  • Valid driver’s license (an added advantage)
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Secretarial and administration skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in administrative work related to Local Government Authority
  • Adaptability, communication, assertiveness/leadership skills, conflict and stress management, negotiation skills, problem-solving skills, office/diary management skills, strong administrative skills, writing and typing skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of the motor vehicle industry.


As an Admin Clerk at Midvaal Local Municipality, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Handling all external and internal queries regarding Wastewater Treatment Works complaints.
  2. Ensuring that all tasks delegated by the executive director, director of engineering services, and respective section heads are done effectively and efficiently as requested.
  3. Performing general admin duties for the Purification section, including drafting replies and returns for future reference within the section.
  4. Providing fast and accurate typing services for the Technician/Foreman of the Purification section using word processing or a personal computer to ensure efficient administration.
  5. Capturing monthly overtimes and sectional leaves.
  6. Drafting minutes for all sectional meetings.
  7. Performing leave administration duties.
  8. Carrying out any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
