Join Anglo American Platinum as an Assistant Accountant

Responsibilities

The Assistant Accountant role primarily supports the Reconciliations Supervisor in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant intercompany and payroll reconciliations for Anglo American BU’s. Key responsibilities include:

• Completion of all process documents for in-scope Anglo American Business Units
• Conducting general ledger reconciliations adhering to service level agreements
• Processing routine journal transactions and aiding in monthly reporting processes
• Detailed analysis and resolution of overdue open line items for a healthy balance sheet
• Compliance enforcement with controls, policies, and procedures
• Escalation of non-routine transactions to the Reconciliations Accountant Band 7’8
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards in alignment with the Group’s values

Requirements

• Qualifications: BCom Degree or Tertiary Financial qualification from a recognized institution
• Experience: 1 year of financial reporting experience; financial accounting experience in the mining industry preferred
• Skills & Knowledge: Proficiency in Finance, Tax, IFRS, SAP
