Join ATNS as an Air Traffic Control Officer. Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) is looking for qualified candidates to join as Air Traffic Control Officers at multiple positions.
This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient flow of air traffic, preventing collisions, and offering guidance to aircraft. It also involves providing alerting services to distressed aircraft and supporting Search and Rescue operations as needed. The role is based at Wonderboom Airport.

Join ATNS as an Air Traffic Control Officer
Air Traffic Control Duties
- Ensuring the safe, orderly, and efficient flow of air traffic within the designated airspace, following prescribed standards and procedures.
- Setting up and checking surveillance, navigation, and communication equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintaining a flight progress display for coordinated air movements.
- Providing assistance to aircraft in emergencies and distress situations.
- Supplying aircraft with meteorological and other flight-related information.
- Maintaining vigilance on assigned communication channels and remaining on duty until properly relieved.
- Relaying equipment, facility, and navigational aid serviceability reports.
- Complying with station standing instructions and operational procedures.
- Meeting medical and proficiency standards.
- Handling operational administration tasks and supporting safety management.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Aerodrome Rating (South African or International).
- Valid class 3 ATC medical.
- Valid English language proficiency (Level 4 and above).
- Previous tower validation within ATNS is advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of applicable ATS experience.
- Two years of on-the-job instructional experience (OJTI qualified).
