merSETA Seeks Client Liaison Officers-Apply Now. merSETA, the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Related Services Education and Training Authority, is seeking qualified professionals to fill the position of Client Liaison Officer.

There are four openings for this role, and interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications by the closing date of December 1, 2023.

  • Salary Level (Min. to Mid): R518,016 – R630,161 pa
  • Contract Type: Fixed-term contract aligned with the SETA license term
  • Location: Gauteng South Regional Office

merSETA operates as the Education and Training Authority for the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Related Services, established under the Skills Development Act.

It covers industries such as metal and engineering, auto manufacturing, motor retail, tyre manufacturing, and plastics.

As one of the 21 Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), merSETA plays a crucial role in promoting skills development in alignment with the Skills Development Act of 1998.

merSETA Seeks Client Liaison Officers-Apply Now

The primary purpose of the Client Liaison Officer role is to facilitate and implement merSETA’s Client Services strategy.

This involves ensuring a high level of client satisfaction, enhancing training accessibility, and promoting skills development to address imbalances in the sector.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of the Client Liaison Officer include, but are not limited to:

  1. Guiding and supporting companies in developing, implementing, and monitoring mandatory grants.
  2. Ensuring compliance with merSETA quality assurance and workplace approval policies.
  3. Managing, promoting, and supporting participation in training partnerships and learning interventions.
  4. Monitoring learning interventions to ensure continuous progress and providing guidance and support where needed.
  5. Promoting and supporting participation in merSETA project initiatives and services.
  6. Planning and managing moderation of trade testing and assessments.
  7. Supporting capacity building initiatives.
  8. Identifying opportunities for best practice development, sustainable community-based programs, and suitable providers.
  9. Building and developing relationships with stakeholders in the region.
  10. Assisting companies in claiming mandatory grants and identifying suitable companies for discretionary grants.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • NQF Level 6 National Certificate in ODETP or National Diploma (or equivalent) in Engineering Studies/Business Studies/Administration/Project Management/Human Resources Development/Training.
  • NQF Level 7 in the relevant fields will be an advantage.
  • Qualified Artisan will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • 4 years in a client liaison environment with an understanding of the technical environment in manufacturing and engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in client liaison and a technical environment, with direct training experience as an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Collaboration, management control, and relationship management.
  • Computer literacy and excellent time management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Project management skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of accuracy and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the industry, skills development legislation, and administration processes.
  • Valid driver’s license and own legally registered transport in good condition.
