Join the Toys R Us and Babies R Us Team as Shop Assistants/Cashiers
As a Shop Assistant/Cashier, your role is to operate cash registers, process payments accurately, and address customer inquiries.

Key Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service to create WOW experiences for customers.
- Address the unique shopping needs of each customer, always putting the customer first.
- Adhere to all customer service standards to ensure prompt and efficient service.
- Sell products and, importantly, promote additional sales and services at the point of sale.
- Prepare for the start of the day and process transactions in line with company procedures.
- Maintain merchandising and housekeeping standards.
- Operate cash registers and handle customer payments.
- Examine returned items and report to managers for necessary actions.
- Ensure point-of-sale areas comply with standard operating procedures.
- Prepare, execute, and maintain all advertised sales promotions at the point of sale.
- Verify correct pricing and product display at the point of sale.
- Participate in stock takes and counts.
- Minimize stock loss.
- Control expenses within your area of responsibility.
- Maximize sales in all areas.
- Safeguard the company’s assets within your area of responsibility.
Other Duties
- Fulfill any other relevant duties as assigned by Senior Management.
- Complete mandatory service training as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
- Undergo regular performance appraisals and personal development reviews.
- Stay up-to-date with current standard operating procedures.
- Cooperate fully in the introduction of new technology and methods.
Job Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Minimum of 6 months of retail experience
- Must have access to personal or reliable transportation to work shifts
