As part of the assistant mechanical foreman’s responsibilities, the successful candidate will transport employees and equipment, collect and deliver mail, invoice files, job card files, etc., as necessary. Checking/cleaning vehicles on a daily basis and reporting any defects. Administrative duties, as well as purchasing spares when necessary.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent.

Have two years’ experience driving and be able to communicate at all levels.

It is essential to have a Code C (10) drivers license and be able to pass Rand Water’s K53 test.

Possess a public drivers license
Primary Duties
-
The driving of vehicles and the delivery and receiving of mail and parcels.

Provides staff/equipment transportation as required

On a daily basis, inspect vehicles and report all incidents and defects to ensure their roadworthiness.

The maintenance of the mechanical department’s vehicles, as well as the delivery and collection of documents and equipment.

Invoices and Petty Cash deliveries.

After every trip, complete the logbook. Make sure the vehicle is serviced when necessary.

Providing transportation for staff training and well-being.

A variety of mechanical activities are performed on a daily basis.

Vehicles of the Mechanical Department are washed and cleaned.

Compliance with all applicable SHEQ legislation. Adherence to OHS Act.
