In the Volkswagen Group Parts Distribution Centre, the warehouse operator pulls warehouse items from the shelves based on their number, size, colour, quantity, and quality.
Executes orders accurately. Stages items correctly for delivery. Operates handling equipment and ensures safety regulations are followed.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Making sure all relevant parts and accessories are received, picked, packed, and delivered.
Ensure that the BPMO (area specific targets) are met daily.
Contacting Supervisors and the Group Leader regarding new picks and complying with work requests.
Picking up new stickers; ensuring required parts are put away in accordance with required processes; receiving parts as required.
Picked parts and accessories must reach the pack floor within the cycle time and accurately before cut-off.
Making sure all Housekeeping (5S) and LOPA rules are observed and adhered to.
If you notice any broken or malfunctioning scanners, tools, or equipment, or any other aspect that hampers your productivity, please report it.
The warehouse guidelines require high accuracy levels to be observed at all times.
Attending all training and earning relevant credits as required.
Assisting with the management of ideas and improvement processes relevant to warehouses.
Ensuring that all targets per cycle are met and exceeded.

Safety hazards should be reported to safety representatives.

Incoming goods should be checked against delivery notes.

Accurately complete assigned tasks according to the design process
Education and Experience
-
The applicant must have a matriculation or an equivalent Abet.

A minimum of one year’s experience in a distribution warehouse is required.
Skills, Attributes and other Requirements
ESSENTIAL
-
Forklift, reach truck, turret truck, power pallet truck, stock picker and power pallet truck driving skills are required.

English proficiency.

Ability to work in a team is essential.

Under pressure, work well.

Make overtime and staggered start times a priority when necessary.

It is necessary to have a license or training for material handling equipment.
