Protective Services Assistant Supervisor at Rand Water
The Protective Services Assistant Supervisor, reporting to the Protective Services Supervisor, is responsible for ensuring the protection of Rand Water’s personnel, assets, and property.
This role complies with the National Key Point Act, the MPSS, relevant legislation, site-specific procedures, and training guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent with NKP and PSIRA Grade B registration
- 5 years of Protective Services experience, with at least 2 years at a National Key Point installation
- Firearm competency certificate for pistol, rifle, hand machine carbine, and shotgun from SAPS
- Successful completion of Firearm unit standards: 123515, 123514, and 123511
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass the Rand Water K53 driver’s evaluation
Primary Duties
- Monitoring access and egress control
- Monitoring patrolling, guarding, and post visits
- Assisting during emergency incidents and preparedness
- Crime investigation and protection
- Administering administrative tasks, including occurrence book management
- Providing supervision and guidance to subordinates, addressing absenteeism, and taking corrective actions
- Attending HPS and Supervisors meetings, and disseminating information to staff
- Risk management and adherence to SHE requirements and relevant SHEQ legislation
Knowledge
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (NKP and PSIRA regulations)
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures
- Preliminary investigations knowledge
