Responsibilities
As a Team Member – Nursery Driver, your role will encompass various responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Timely Plant Material Transportation: Ensure the prompt movement of plant materials for growth and development.
- Raw and Processed Materials Transport: Collect and deliver raw and processed materials to and from different areas within the nursery.
- Tray Management: Move empty trays within the nursery.
- Growing Medium Assistance: Assist with the movement of the growing medium.
- Nursery Maintenance: Maintain the nursery in a neat and safe condition, which includes tasks such as grass mowing and slashing.
- Chemical Application: Apply chemicals as necessary, including the application of chemicals around the grounds and fenced perimeter, and using a mist blower on plants.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure daily equipment maintenance and complete checklists as per procedure. Report any faults to the Supervisor.
- Goods and People Transport: Collect goods as needed and provide transportation services for personnel.
- Safety Compliance: Comply with safety standards to maintain a secure working environment.
- Vehicle and Equipment Safety: Ensure that tractors, trailers, and other utility vehicles are in a safe condition for use. Use the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 6 months of experience in a Nursery, Forestry, or Manufacturing environment.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Valid driver’s licenses (code 8 and code 11).
