Job Purpose

To provide expertise, advice and support to develop operational implementation plans and / or associated service delivery processes, by implementing and coordinating the implementation of the Human Resources tactical plan within the business unit, to continuously improve service quality.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

A relevant Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) AND 5-7 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 2-3 years should be at a functional specialist level.

A SUMMARY OF OTHERS

A Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 10 years of related experience.

Job Outputs:

Process

  • Monitors the effects of business decisions on people and advises management on how to address employee concerns based on the results of Employee Engagement studies.

  • Guidance on day-to-day performance management (coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary action) resulting in positive changes in the management of people and performance.

  • Provide business-focused and operational HR advice and services to implement SARS’ Human Capital Development Strategy.

  • Contribute to effective programme and project management of HR integrated projects or interventions to ensure their success.

  • Assist Line with workplace relations advice and services, and interpret HR policies and employment laws.

  • Provide customers with customised solutions using HC&D products, policies, and procedures.

  • Work with the HR team to analyze trends and develop solutions, programs, and policies based on these insights.

  • Business unit goals must be considered when designing and implementing policy, practices, processes, and delivery systems.

  • Develop change management methodologies and organizational development strategies, influence and assist change initiatives to support overall business strategy.

  • Assure that employees’ performance and capabilities meet current and future standards and business needs by managing people processes (performance, development, and career).

  • Make sure correspondence and information received from external and internal sources is verified and handled accordingly.

  • Maintain leading edge HR knowledge and provide services tailored to client needs. Identify new opportunities to add value through HR.

  • Improve key processes across the organization by implementing initiatives related to projects.

  • Participate in both functional and cross-functional HR initiatives as determined in the HR operational plan.

  • Provide authoritative, specialist advice on the broader People Strategy and its implementation to internal and external customers.

  • Coordinate, monitor, and report on project activities in accordance with the principles and standards of project management.

  • In accordance with the specialization area, provide reports with recommendations.

  • Assist line managers in forecasting and planning talent pipeline requirements according to the business strategy.

  • Improve operational efficiency by using practical and applied knowledge and judgement.

  • Plan workforce, succession, and business unit restructures.
