In two health systems implementation research studies, the Knowledge Translation Unit (KTU) needs X8 fieldworkers to support the Principal Investigator (PI) and affiliates.

Using the recruitment and retention programme for the ENHANCE Project, this position is primarily responsible for retaining and recruiting study participants.
Requirements:

Grade 12
-
Conducting fieldwork for other research projects or working in target communities for 1 year.

Qualitative interviews with research participants and data collection questionnaires experience.
-
Having the ability to communicate in English, isiXhosa, or Afrikaans.
-
Direct interaction with patients is important to me.
-
Research experience in clinical settings.
-
Organizing and planning well.
-
Skills in Microsoft Office (MS Office)
-
Focused on the client (participant).

If you are not a South African, you have a valid work permit for South Africa
The following will be advantageous:

A certificate of accreditation (GCP) is currently in effect
-
Multidisciplinary clinical experience and track record of success
-
University of Cape Town or higher education institution experience
Responsibilities:
-
ENHANCE study recruitment and screening.
-
Collect data as required, including questionnaires, height and weight measurements, waist circumference, Blood Pressure (BP), etc. (this information must be recorded on a prescribed data sheet, such as an electronic questionnaire).

Work with nurses to collect study-specific samples, such as blood samples.

Conduct administrative and/or any other duties related to a project, such as preparing reports for study participant folders at clinics.

Records retrieval.

Reimburse patients and administer payments for petty cash as needed.

Ensure study participants are reminded a week in advance about their follow-up visits by reviewing the study plan.

Nurses and doctors should be referred to emergency responders when necessary.
-
Visit participants’ homes (only if required by supervisor).
-
Confidentiality must be maintained.
-
All participant interactions should be documented in the participant’s file in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Inform study coordinators, data team, about retention progress verbally, in writing, and electronically.

Ensure that study protocols are followed.
The successful candidate will earn R11 548.25 per month for this fixed-term, contract position.
