Duties

Inspect workplaces for compliance with all labour laws by conducting occupational inspections. Investigate reported cases involving labour legislation violations and enforce them where necessary. Monitor compliance with labour legislation through proactive (Blitz) inspections. Conduct advocacy campaigns on labour legislation identified and allocated. Provide assistance in drafting inspection plans, reports, and statistics on assigned cases.

Application Instructions

Application quoting the relevant reference number must be submitted on the new form Z83, available at any Public Service Department or on the internet at www.gov.za/documents. Each application for employment must be completed, initialled, and signed by the applicant. We will not consider applications that use the incorrect application for employment (old Z83).

All fields of Sections A, B, C, and D of the Z83 must be completed in full in order to be considered. Failure to do so may result in the application being disqualified during the selection process. Applicants may indicate that they refer to their CV or see the attached document as a result of the limited space on the Z83. A comprehensive CV (with detailed previous experience) is required.

Answer the questions related to conditions prohibiting re-appointment under Part F. Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications and other related documents on or before the day of the interview following the communication from Human Resources, and these qualifications and related documents must comply with the ad’s requirements.

When shortlisted, foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation report issued by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA). We will not consider applications that do not follow the above-mentioned instructions/requirements, or that are received late.
