x2 Project Manager Vacancies at the Department of Water and Sanitation
Requirements:
An NQF level 7 degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Five (5) years’ experience in middle and senior management within the water sector-built environment.
Experience in technical and engineering designs of Water and Sanitation Services. A valid unexpired driver’s license. An understanding of stakeholders and decision making. An understanding of drafting agreements. The ability to work with PFMA, governance practices, and policies, including financial, knowledge, and change management.
Technical report writing, strategic capability, and leadership. A sound understanding of e-collaboration and networking. Capable of analytical, creative, and self-management skills.
Duties:
Manage and coordinate all aspects of water and sanitation services management projects. Ensure that water and sanitation services projects are monitored and evaluated properly in provincial operations. Facilitate research development. Facilitate and support the implementation of water and sanitation services projects for the provincial operations.
Compiled monthly progress reports from provincial operations for Management and National Treasury. Prepares reports for the national oversight committee (DWS, DPLG, SALGA, NT). Ensuring service delivery and quality control by populating Monitoring and Reporting System. Arranges and attends quarterly meetings with 9 provincial offices.

The application must be accompanied by a comprehensive CV (with detailed information about the applicant’s training, qualifications, competencies, knowledge, and experience). Please provide all the required information on the Z83 application form.
As per DPSA circular 19 of 2022, other related documentation, such as copies of qualifications, identity documents, drivers licenses, etc., cannot accompany the application when applying for a position. Such documentation must only be provided during the interview.
For applicants with professional or occupational registrations, it is mandatory to complete the fields in Part B of the Z83 since these fields are regarded as mandatory. Before appointment, all shortlisted candidates for Senior Management Services (SMS) posts will undergo a technical and competency assessment.
A pre-entry certificate is required from the National School of Government. (Individuals who have completed the course already, and who are therefore in possession of a certificate are welcome to submit such, however, it is not required that an applicant submit such when applying for the post prior to the closing date.
