The Danish Refugee Council is looking for two motivated Projects Grants and Finance Officers where one will support the start-up of the ASPIRE-project, together with the team in Copenhagen and in Uganda, and the other will work within the Civil Society Engagement and Protection Units, which are currently involved primarily in key global donor-funded projects DEMAC (Diaspora Emergency Action and Coordination) and DEEP (Data Entry and Exploration Platform).

The positions will handle general project support, administrative tasks, finance, grants, and support other projects in the department when needed.

Grants Management:

  • Coordination of fundraising efforts with project managers

  • Updating grant documentation and uploading to Dynamics (ERP)

  • Providing support for M&E on projects when necessary

Donor compliance:

  • Maintaining contractual obligations in terms of finance and administration

  • Making sure donor rules and procedures are understood and followed

  • Maintaining relationships with donors (e.g. reporting, grants management, and administrative matters)

  • Coordinate all subcontracts and agreements with partners and ensure they comply with donor requirements

Finance:

  • Monitoring and following up on budgets, and supporting project teams in budgeting

  • Ensuring that projects are implemented according to the budget and work plan of the Project Managers  

  • Prepare financial reports aligned with narrative; review narrative in accordance with agreement and proposal; support the Project Managers by supporting donor and internal reporting requirements.

  • Payment processing for projects

Support Services:

  • Involved in all HR and procurement processes in accordance with the DRC and donors

  • Provide practical and administrative assistance with regard to field visits, workshops, trainings, and conferences

  • Supporting the units with any other finance or administrative duties as needed

Required

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a humanitarian or development organization and/or in a donor administration position with similar responsibilities  

  • Education (university degree or equivalent) and work experience that demonstrates finance qualifications

  • Strong oral and written English skills, with experience writing reports  

  • A working knowledge of administrative and procurement procedures  

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and flexible approach to tasks and service-minded attitude  

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and build good working relationships  

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment  

The DRC offer

  • This is a permanent position (though the positions are project funded, so they may need to be funded in the future)

  • Copenhagen, Denmark, Borgergade 10, 1300

  • As soon as possible, by 1 July 2023 at the latest

  • There will be no differences in salary and conditions between DRC and AC. This is a national position with local terms and conditions.
