Duties and Responsibilities

As an intern, you will be responsible for various tasks related to the academic support of students. Your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Compiling a database of tutors.
  • Assisting with problem-solving related to venues.
  • Booking venues and scheduling online links for tutorial and training purposes.
  • Resolving venue and online tutorial challenges.
  • Assisting tutors in specific modules with planning and implementing session plans.
  • Capturing attendance data for reporting and research.
  • Assisting with claims for tutor payments.
  • Developing an evaluation schedule for each semester and facilitating the distribution and collection of evaluation forms.
  • Supporting portfolio assessments and session plan submissions.
  • Participating in research initiatives.

Job Requirements

Inherent Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree on NQF level 7.


  • Proven computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage events and processes independently.
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic qualitative research skills.
  • Previous tutoring or academic facilitator experience in higher education.
