Requirements:
A legal qualification that qualifies a prosecutor for service. An experience that demonstrates competence in acting independently, professionally, accountable, and with credibility. The incumbent must be able to act independently or with minimal supervision. Prompt prosecuting skills. Experience guiding investigations and providing instructions regarding law and statutory offences. Ability to make decisions. Good administrative skills.
Duties:
Represents the State in all courts, studies case dockets, decides whether criminal proceedings should be instituted, drafts charge sheets and other documents. Conduct prosecutions on behalf of the state by leading witnesses, cross-examining and addressing the court on issues such as convictions and sentences.
Draft arguments, argue Appeals, and perform administrative duties. Partner with partners in the criminal justice system to promote partner integration, community involvement, and customer satisfaction. Comply with the National Prosecuting Authority’s Code of Conduct, Policy, and Directives.
